Advising clients on the latest trendy eyewear is a sign of specialization. In our Eyewear & Style section, we're focusing this time on men's frames for 2020.
Trendy glasses for men: transparent is the focus
This is a trend already observed the previous year, but in 2020, men will accentuate their facial features with transparent frames.
The softness of the contours is enhanced by the translucent materials , which sometimes also soften the harshness of the gaze. These models are particularly well-suited to men who grow a beard or have a tousled hairstyle.
But transparent doesn't necessarily mean devoid of color. Very natural tones , like brown or green, will go very well with many clothing styles.
For square or rectangular faces, consider the contrast offered by round shapes . These glasses, trendy in 2019, are even more so in 2020, especially those with thin, silver frames. Choose a glossy finish for darker skin tones and a more matte finish for lighter skin tones.
A little extravagance never hurt anyone!
Just like with women's frames , there's a renewed interest in slightly less understated styles, especially tortoiseshell models! For example, check out Izipizi 's Tortoise model.
The strong attachment of those nostalgic for the 80s and 90s has brought this design back into fashion, for both optical and sunglasses frames.
For this type of model, shades of blue or beige are particularly recommended, as they are especially effective and can be adapted to one's style and skin tone.
In the same vein, fairly wide frames, embellished with flashy colors or gradient effects, like those from Vint and York , will be very popular, elegantly combining a style that is both serious and original .
This year, for men, we're going back to basics, in line with the revival of the last decades of the 20th century. It's the new vintage , that of Generation Y, now fully in control of their faculties, and appealing to their nostalgic side.
