New governance for Eyes-Road confirms its ambitions

Article published on www.acuite.fr on September 29, 2016.

With 95 members and a strong community of eyewear (27), the European Group of Economic Interest (EEIG) confirms its ambitions. Its goal: to reach more and more EDI users, to strengthen the flows of its platform to facilitate the exchange of data and documents between optical professionals.

Six months after the launch of " Freedom " and " Freedom + " offers, more than 60 manufacturers have subscribed to one of them (80% of the companies contacted). By the end of the first half of 2016, more than 1,120 catalogs were available on the Eyes-Road platform. "We want to convince more eyewear companies to use its platform through the" Liberté "and" Liberté + "offers and to encourage manufacturers to distribute more catalogs," said Philippe Cellier, Deputy Chief Executive Officer.

For its part, the " Autonomy " offer launched in 2014 is aimed at opticians. Simply download the supplier catalogs and upload your product orders. At present, more than 60% of the 9,800 opticians connected to the platform download the catalogs, a usage up 35% over 2015.

Since the launch of " Autonomy ", Eyes -Road registers two to three new optician registrations each day on its catalog distribution platform (IDDIC).

A new governance

In June 2016, at the last Supervisory Board and General Assembly, the European Economic Interest Group Eyes-Road has ratified its new terms. Nicolas Series, CEO of Zeiss Vision Care France, is elected as President and Fabrice Masson, CEO of the Central Opticians (CDO), has been appointed Vice President. "The commitment of the new governance will allow to multiply the momentum initiated by Eyes-Road to promote the EDI on the optical market," enthuses Philippe Cellier.

Online training

To develop the EDI culture, Eyes-Road offers " webinars " and improves the quality of its services by integrating product photos into catalogs to meet the demand of opticians. Several surveys conducted in 2015 and 2016 confirm this need.
With the help of manufacturers to integrate photos in catalogs and publishers to ensure the necessary developments, product visuals will be available soon in opticians software. ]
