Eyewear & Style: 2021 Trends
As every year, we review some trendy eyewear styles. Materials, colors, shapes, textures—we try to analyze and simplify what your summer will be like.
Bold colours, and lots of transparency!
In terms of materials, acetate and metal are trending. Acetate allows for a different approach to colors, thickness, and transparency. This transparency is, once again this year, highly sought after. A few details are juxtaposed with translucent acetates in honey, cherry, and seafoam green, which are found in numerous other details. 
Nevertheless, it will be less "raw" than in previous years, where bright and "natural" colors clearly take precedence. Could this be seen as a desire to break the gloom of the past and current year?
In any case, blue and green are by far the most dominant. We also find, in a more feminine trend, pastel colors combined with metal. A material that guarantees lightness and delicacy , this year tinged with purple or pink.
Eyewear trends from a brand perspective
As for brands, we particularly appreciate the models from Jean-François Rey and Plein les Mirettes . The thin BA&SH frames have perfectly captured the " pastel transparency" trend described above.
Regarding sunglasses , we want to highlight the understated elegance of the new 'La Belle Vie' collection from the Swiss brand Fielmann . If your ethical and environmental concerns resonate with you, you should know that many companies, including eyewear manufacturers, have also made this choice.
We think of Barberini and its mineral lenses, Mazzucchelli and its natural acetates, and of course Etnia Barcelona , which continues to elevate its frames while guaranteeing the use of exclusively natural materials.
